Gabriele G. Niederauer, PhD
Ms. Niederauer is currently the Chief Executive Officer of Bluegrass Vascular Technologies, Inc. (BVT). Prior to BVT, Dr. Niederauer led R&D at ENTrigue Surgical, Inc., C2M Medical, and OsteoBiologics, Inc. All three companies were acquired by larger public companies. Dr. Niederauer holds a Post-Doctoral Fellowship from the Orthopaedic Biomechanics Laboratory at UTHSCSA. She earned a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Biomedical Engineering from Iowa State University, a Masters of Science degree in Materials Science and Biomedical Engineering from Iowa State University, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Ceramic Engineering from Clemson University. Nationally, she has served on the Boards of the Society for Biomaterials, the Biomedical Engineering Society and the Orthopedic Research Society. Dr. Niederauer also serves as an advisor to several medical start-up companies and is a Fellow of the American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering. She is as an honorary commander of the Air Force 59th Medical Wing’s Honorary Commanders Program, a Trustee of the San Antonio Medical Foundation, and a Trustee of the Southwest Research Institute. She is a founder of The Health Cell, a member of the UTSA College of Engineering Advisory Board, a member of the Geekdom Fund Board, and serves as Chair of the Seton Home Board of Directors.
